Our wedding experts have years of experience serving couples who celebrate their marriage in the casual, relaxed atmosphere of Akumal. Work with our Akumal-based coordinator to organize vendors from floral and music to cakes and day trips, photographers, menus, transportation, accommodations, and anything else you might need to arrange—all well ahead of your vacation – so you can relax when the time comes!
Once you arrive in Akumal, the wedding coordinator will meet with you before your big day. You will have a chance to tour the ceremony location options in person and choose the spot most special to you as a couple. Discuss the final details of your wedding face-to-face, consider placement of chairs, confirm final menu details, and more.

Types of Ceremonies
Spiritual Wedding
Spiritual Weddings are not legal ceremonies. They are an affirmation of a couple’s commitment to one another, and participating in this ceremony will not legally change your marital status. For this reason, anyone can perform a spiritual wedding ceremony – a religious celebrant, a friend or family member, or a local resident. A wedding celebrant can perform your Spiritual Wedding, or, you may wish to choose someone special to you. Many couples choose to legally marry in the US before arriving in Mexico and we highly recommend this route!
Vow Renewal
Like our Spiritual Wedding and Commitment Ceremonies, a Vow Renewal includes your service on the beachfront adorned with fresh flowers, and assistance from our on-site wedding coordinator in Akumal. Consider dinner afterwards at our lovely beachfront restaurant, with a choice table and panoramic views of the bay.
Civil Wedding
We do not offer civil (legal) wedding services at this time. We highly recommend participating in your Civil Ceremony (getting legally married) in the US prior to celebrating your marriage in Akumal. We do not recommend undertaking a civil marriage in Mexico. There are many requirements, and it takes a lot of time out of your vacation.
Catholic Wedding
Religious ceremonies performed by the Catholic church are not permitted outdoors and must take place inside a church. For this reason, we do not coordinate Catholic ceremonies.
